Belgian right-wing party mourns Haider death

Brussels - Belgium's right-wing Flemish party Vlaams Belang (VB), known for its anti-foreigner rhetoric, Saturday mourned the car accident death of rightist Austrian politicial Joerg Haider.

VB party executive Filip Dewinter said he was "deeply" shocked by the news and praised Haider as being a "model of a modern, current successful right-nationalist politician."

Dewinter said Haider had given voice to the "silent majority of the population." (dpa)
