Beyonce’s track-altering prankster apologises for hoax

Washington, April 25: The student who doctored Beyonce Knowles' track out of tune has apologised for the prank, saying it "got out of hand".

Matthew Zeghibe had altered the tunes of a song the R&B queen performed on live TV last November, making her vocals sound ear splitting.

The record found its way on the Internet and became popular amongst fans, bloggers and shock jock Howard Stern, who played the track on his U. S. radio show.

Following the storm, the singer's father Mathew had insisted the leaked "board mix" had been fiddled with.

Art student Zeghibe finally stepped forward to confess his misdoing, which he claimed was just for fun.

"It was just for a good laugh. It was a goof, just for fun. I do a lot of parodies on my YouTube channel, and it just so happens this one got a little out of hand," Contactmusic quoted Zeghibe as telling Rolling Stone magazine.

"I was just trying to make a point. I wanted to show people how easy it is to manipulate someone''s voice. If I can do it with a clip I pulled off of TV, imagine what they are doing on records and during live performances.

"The entire industry has been so manipulated, because there''s such an emphasis on perfection, so when something like this happens, it causes such a stir," he added. (ANI)
