Chiranjeevi backs Telangana demand The Telugu superstar-turned -politician Chiranjeevi on Friday declared that his Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) supports the idea of a separate Telengana state.

"I know people here want separate Telangana. If you think this will bring rapid development, I am with you," he said in roadside meetings in Karimnagar district.

The meeting was organized at Jagityal town, the seat represented by TRS chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao in the Lok Sabha.

He announced this during the second day of his road show.

But the superstar put the ball in center's court saying that it should take a decision in this regard. He asked people to pressurize center to fulfill their demand.

Earlier TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu supported the idea of separate Telengana state.

Now Congress is the only party in Andhra which is opposed to a separate state.
