Emerson leaves AC Milan

Rome - Brazilian midfielder Emerson has left AC Milan with immediate effect, the Italian Serie A top club announced on Tuesday night.

Milan gave no further details on their website, but Italian media on Wednesday named personal problems as the motive for Emerson to leave the club he joined in 2007.

Emerson, 33, began playing with Brazil side Gremio, them moved to Europe, playing with Bayer Leverkusen, Roma, Juventus and Real Madrid before coming to Milan. He played 39 matches for Milan in the 20 months at the club. (dpa)
