Israel to become guest country at Warsaw Book Fair

Warsaw - Israel is set to become the guest nation at the 53rd Warsaw Book Fair which will be held from May 15 to 18, organizers said Thursday in Poland.

Israeli authors and poets invited to Warsaw include Yossi Avni- Levy, Alona Frankel, Irit Amiel, Chaim Chefer, Sara Siwroni, Giv Hovav, Liat Kaplan and Ester Chaim.

An exhibition on aid extended by Poles to Jews in occupied Poland from 1939 to 1945 is also planned.

Around 600 publishers from 29 countries are expected to attend the book fair.( dpa)
