Laurel & Hardy fans to convene in Netherlands

Amsterdam - Some 250 international fans of the famous Laurel and Hardy silent movies are due to convene in the Netherlands from July 9 to July 13 for the 16th Laurel and Hardy Convention.

It is the first time the fan club's world convention does not take place in the US or Britain, but on the European continent.

All activities are due to take place in Amsterdam and a nature fun park in nearby town Alphen aan de Rijn. (dpa)
