Malaysia allocates 12 million ringgits to train Indian community
Kuala Lumpur, Mar. 21 : The Economic Planning Unit in the Malaysian Prime Minister's Department has allocated 12 million ringgits for upgrading the Indian community's professional skills.
Deputy Minister S. K. Devamany said several programs were being planned to train Indian youths in vocational courses.
"The Government wants the community to realise that many people have benefited from EPU's efforts," the Star Online quoted Devamany, as saying.
The training courses will include tourism, broadcasting, filming, logistics, and entrepreneurship.
The minister also said those interested in attending training programs should register at the Social Strategic Foundation (YSS) of the MIC.
"YSS will also consider giving out small loans to those who want to start a business. The EPU has also given out 200 taxi permits to Malaysian Indians through the Entrepreneur Developm-ent and Coorperative Ministry," he said. (ANI)
