National Conference corporator shot dead

Srinagar, Nov 14: National Conference Corporator Ghulam Nabi Wani was shot dead by militants here today.

Militants shot at him from a close range when he stepped out of his house at Sheeshgari Mohalla in Khanyar area at 8:45 a. m.

He was rushed to Soura Medical Institute where he succumbed to injuries.

Wani is the first serving corporator to be shot dead by militants in three years.

He was an active member of National Conference.

A little-known militant outfit Al Fajr claimed responsibility for Wani's killing. (ANI)
