Union Home Minister To Make Statement On Hyderabadi Attacks Tomorrow

Union Home Minister Shivraj PatilNew Delhi: Shivraj Patil, Union Home Minister is likely to make a suo motu affirmation on the twin explosions in Hyderabad when Parliament adjoins on Wednesday after a four-day break.

Today, Mr. Patil held a conference with senior functionaries of his ministry, comprising Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta, to appraise the condition following the terrorist attacks that claimed 40 lives.

Though the Home Minister is expected to think about the growth of probes into the attacks, the main opponent BJP has sounded out it would move an adjournment motion in Parliament to demand a debate on inner security, keeping apart all listed business.

Patil has already told he was not in support of reviving anti-terror law Pota, as demanded by senior BJP leader L K Advani, as there was no guarantee that such incidents would not have taken place had the legislation been in force.

Security delegacies believe that Pakistan-based terror outfits like Laskhar-e-Toiba or Jaish-e-Mohammad may be after the blasts.

Yesterday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy blamed "international terrorist organisations" based in Pakistan and Bangladesh for the twin blasts.
