Rasmussen chosen as NATO chief - report

Copenhagen - NATO leaders reached a deal Saturday on the appointment of Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen as the alliance's next secretary general, Danish television TV2 reported.

The agreement came after leaders managed to overcome objections from Turkey during strenuous discussions at a summit in the French city of Strasbourg. (dpa)
