India’s External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna has said that the country will be able to regain investor confidence and return the economy on a path of high growth rate.

He was delivering the keynote address at 37th US-India Business Council (USIBC) Leadership Summit on Tuesday, when he said that everything was not in the power of the national governments as everything was interrelated in the global economy. The summit was titled, 'Securing the 21st Century Partnership'.

"But we are confident that we will restore investor confidence and regain economic momentum and growth," he said.

He admitted that there have been some doubts about economic policy and commitment to implement reforms from the government. He pointed out that the confidence in the economy not only comes from the strong fundamentals of the economy but also the fact that every political party n the country ahs been a part of the reforms at some time.

He pointed out various problems faced by Indian businesses in America like mobility of professionals, the protectionist sentiments as well as non agreement for non-immigrant Indian professionals in the US.

He also expressed great confidence over the future of India-US economic partnership.
