Vienna to host donor conference for Lebanon refugee camp Vienna - At the request of the Lebanese government, Austria will host an international donor conference for the reconstruction of a destroyed Palestinian refugee camp on June 23, the Austrian foreign ministry announced Wednesday.

The conference will be hosted by Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik, Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, Secretary General of the Arab League Amre Moussa and EU Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner.

The Nahr al-Bared refugee camp in northern Lebanon was largely destroyed in early summer of 2007, when fighters of the extremist Fatah al-Islam group battled Lebanese units. Before that conflict, the camp was home to over 40,000 Palestinians. (dpa)
