Nordics condemn Mumbai attacks
Stockholm/Oslo - Leaders in the Nordic region Thursday condemned the terrorist attacks in the Indian financial centre of Mumbai.
The Norwegian government "condemns the brutal terrorist attacks," Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement.
Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt expressed sympathy "for all who have who have been affected" and said Sweden "offered its strongest support to the Indian government in its important fight against this terrorism."
Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moller, who was delayed a day in Thailand over the closure of Bangkok's main airports by protesters, said the attack was "terrible."
"It is terrible. It appears as if it was aimed at westerners, and that is a tactic we know from other terrorist attacks," Moller told Danish news agency Ritzau before boarding a plane bound for Nepal where he was due for an official visit.
Initial reports suggest no Nordic nationals have suffered serious injury in the attacks on hotels and other locations. (dpa)
