One dead, one wounded in axe assault in Israeli settlement
Jerusalem - A Palestinian wielding an axe infiltrated an Israeli settlement in the West Bank early Thursday afternoon, fatally wounding a teenager and inflicting light-to-moderate injuries on another youngster, first aid officials said.
Israeli media reported that a passer-by managed to grab hold of the axe, but the assailant broke free and fled. Police were pursuing and residents of the settlement, located several miles south of Jerusalem, were ordered to remain in their homes. (dpa)
