Pakistan formally announces to impeach Musharraf

Islamabad - Pakistan's ruling coalition Thursday evening formally announced that it had decided to impeach embattled President Pervez Musharraf.

"It has become imperative to move for impeachment under article 47 (of the constitution) against General Musharraf," said Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, who now leads her Pakistan People Party, the strongest party in the ruling coalition government. (dpa)
