Prince William flies dead hero home from Afghanistan

Prince WilliamLondon, May 1 : Britain’s Prince William flew back home from his brief visit to Afghanistan with the body of a hero soldier, it has emerged.

He then privately met members of the family of Trooper Robert Pearson, who died on April 21 when the soldier's vehicle hit a mine.

William then offered his “deepest condolences” to Robert’s dad Paul and stepmum Gillian during a private meeting. They were too upset to comment.

“He was pleased to try to offer some degree of comfort to Trooper Pearson’s family,” The Sun quoted a military source, as saying.

"Prince William found the whole mission extremely moving,” the source added.

Trooper Pearson, of the Queen’s Royal Lancers, is the 94th British serviceman to die in Afghanistan since 2001. (ANI)
