Raj Thackeray arrested, granted bail

Raj Thackeray arrested, granted bail Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray was arrested and released on bail by a Mumbai Court on Saturday.

The Mumbai police arrested him from his Dadar residence following a non-bailable warrant issued by the Jamshedpur court in a case charging him of using derogatory language against people of Bihar.

Later he was produced before the Mazgaon Sessions Court, Where he was granted bail at a personal bond of Rs 50,000.

"The only non-bailable offence charged on Raj was quashed by the Ranchi High Court last week and thus he is now liable for bail," Ashok Mundargi lawyer of Raj said.

After this development now there is no need for Raj to appear before the Jamshedpur court on November 17 as directed by it.
