 Yediyurappa confident of BJP winning minimum 8-9 seats in KarnatakaBangalore, Apr 30 : Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa came with his son, who is contesting elections for the BJP, to cast his vote on Thursday.

Sounding confident of emerging victorious in the polls, Yediyurappa said, "Out of 11 Lok Sabha constituencies, we are going to win minimum 8-9 seats."

Yediyurappa''s son BY Raghvendra is contesting from Shimoga seat.

Polling is being held in 11 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka.

Yeddyurappa became the latest target of a ‘footwear missile’ on Tuesday when a slipper was hurled at him while he was addressing an election meeting in Channarayapatna in Hassan District. The place is about 150 kilometers from Bangalore.

The slipper fell far from the dais and the man who threw it was nabbed by police and charged with assault.

Actor Feroz Khan passes awayBangalore, Apr 27 : Bollywood actor Feroz Khan passed away at his farmhouse here late Sunday night.

The 69 year old actor-filmmaker, who died at 1:30 a. m., was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. He was being treated at a Mumbai hospital.

Khan is survived by actor son Fardeen Khan and daughter Laila Khan.

According to sources, the funeral would be held here later in the day.

Khan was born in Bangalore on September 25, 1939. His father was Sadiq Ali Khan Tanoli, who was a Pathan originally from Ghazni province of Afghanistan. His mother Fatima came from Iran.

Style Icon Feroz Khan Passes Away At 70After a prolonged fight with cancer, ace Bollywood actor-filmmaker Feroz Khan passed away on Sunday in Bangalore.

Khan breathed his last at his farmhouse Khan in Bangalore at 1:30 am, a family source said.

The 70-year-old actor is survived by his son Fardeen Khan and daughter Laila Khan.

He had been diagnosed with cancer, and was being treated at a Mumbai hospital for a long time.

Feroz Khan was born and brought up in Bangalore.

His cremation will take place later in the day in Bangalore.

US FDA notices 9 deviations at Cipla plant; stock falls

CiplaA recent scrutiny of drug-manufacturer Cipla's Bangalore plant by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed as many as nine deviations in the pharma firm's manufacturing process.

With the reports about the digression found at the plant, the shares of Cipla suffered a blow at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), as well as the National Stock Exchange (NSE), on Monday. Despite the company justifying its stand and terming the deviations as "minor ones" relating to manufacturing practices, the stock fell at the BSE.
