Sensex Gains 184 Pts; Wipro Soars 4%
After opening with a positive gap of 135 points at 15,038, the BSE Sensex soon reached to a high of 15,142.
Now, at 10:30, the stock index is up 184 points at 15,087.
On the back of its $600 million US acquisition, Wipro has surged 4.4 per cent to Rs 478.
ONGC, Ambuja Cements, Reliance Energy, Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro, Ranbaxy and Reliance Communications have ascended about 2 per cent each to Rs 890, Rs 129, Rs 758, Rs 879, Rs 2,499, Rs 377 and Rs 542, correspondingly.
BHEL and Satyam have come up nearly 2 per cent each to Rs 1,715 and Rs 470, respectively.
ICICI Bank, SBI, Mahindra & Mahindra and HDFC have gained around 1.7 per cent each.
