Zardari wants to reinstate judges, says SC bar chief Aitzaz

Lahore, July 28 : Supreme Court Bar Association president Aitzaz Ahsan has said that PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari was in the favour of restoration of the sacked Supreme Court judges, but added that a delay in this regard was beyond his understanding.

Ahsan said this while speaking at a lawyers’ convention in Bahawalpur on Sunday, reported the Daily Times.

He said that independent judiciary and good economy were interlinked.

“Investors do not come to a country where judiciary is not independent,” he said, and added that President Pervez Musharraf would become “a part of bygone days” if the rulers supported the lawyers’ movement. (ANI)
